The Film Society of New York’s Lincoln Center is celebratting the 30th anniversary of Amnesty International’s comedy and rock benefits with a very full programme called “The Secret Policeman’s Film Festival”. Among the items being shown is The Mermaid Frolics (1977) the television special featuring Amnesty’s 1977 stage show directed by Monty Python’s Terry Jones, and featuring John Cleese, Connie Booth, Jonathan Miller, Peter Cook, Terry Jones, Peter Ustinov, Sue Jones-Davies, Julie Covington and, last but not least, Pete Atkin.
