"Homage" to Clive James?

Quote

This 2004 poem by South Australian poet Rob Walker, boldly described by the poet as “a ‘homage‘ to Clive James at Writers’ Week”, may amuse some of you.

        Even As I Speak

The Book, from My Publisher, is now Available
   And I am Chuffed.
I am here to launch Your book by the trailerful
But first note the Pristine White Marquee, yonder, stuffed
   With my own Literary Masterpiece
Which You will recognize anon since thereupon
Emblazoned is my name in 96 Font
   And within its covers
Works which span my career as the Ponte
Vecchio spans the Arno Or like Meccano
The Mathematical Bridge across the Cam
Whence in My Cambridge Years I swam
   Or took the Punt
   Being as I am
   A Lazy count-
   ryman of Yours.

The Book, from My Publisher, is now Available
   And I am Stoked..... [link]
