I'm guessing that the excellent audience last Wednesday, attentive and appreciative as they were, didn't include many - or any - MVs, not ones who post regularly at any rate, so here is the setlist -- Sunlight Gate (g) The Man Who Walked Toward The Music (g) req Girl On The Train (g) req Sessionman's Blues (p) Between Us There Is Nothing (p) The Eye Of The Universe (g) Apparition In Las Vegas (g) Wristwatch For A Drummer (g) req ----- Prayers Against The Hitman (g) I've Got Better Things To Do (g) Beware Of The Beautiful Stranger (g) req Dancing Master (p) req You Can't Expect To Be Remembered (p) Care-Charmer-Sleep (g) A King At Nightfall (p) req Thirty Year Man (p) req Laughing Boy (g) I failed to keep an eye on the clock and there wasn't time for an encore (in spite of the roaring and persistent demands of the audience, of course).

Surely at least one MV was there and can provide a neutral, balanced account of the gig, to counter this provocatively minimalist account?

I wasn't able to get to Eastbourne this time, it was a choice between The Lamb and the Walthamstow gig in March. At Eastbourne you could usually meet up with Gerry Smith and sometimes John Waites, both sadly no longer with us. Gerry could do the setlist from memory. The first time I went there we met up with Andy Love who had brought his bicycle bell the "warning bell for free form playing". Andy also managed to get his car locked in the multistorey carpark and apparently had to spend the night in Eastbourne. Sorry to have missed this one, perhaps next time

Hello, Jan. Blimey, that just reminded me. I completely forgot that my perf of Wristwatch at the Lamb included a live bicycle-bell contribution from within the audience. Trying hard not to let the distraction make me forget the words, I did wonder if that was indeed Andy Love, but I forgot all about it in the afterwards hubbubbery and never even remembered to try to see if Andy was there until it was too late. So, Andy, was that you? If it was, I'm so sorry you didn't say hello. And if it wasn't you, I wonder who it was!

Hi Jan & Pete I did think that, had things been otherwise either Gerry or John might have been at Eastbourne. I had forgotten though that Andy had managed to get his car locked in the multistorey, many moons ago!! How nice if it had been Andy with his bell this time. I wonder if it was .....
