Thank you Paul -- well spotted, and well booked!

Yes, tickets are now on sale for January 29th at The Pheasantry (King's Road, Chelsea), and I can confirm that pianist-extraordinaire Simon Wallace will also be in attendance. Get your tickets at the PizzaExpressLive website, here:

Pete has today written one of his occasional Newsletters, announcing the gig for the sake of those among us who seldom visit Smash Flops or Midnight Voices, but instead depend on direct email for their information. However, our hosting service, Dreamhost, seems to have suffered a bit of a wobble today and it appears that the Newsletter might not have gone out. Still, you can read Pete's announcement in MV's "Newsletter" board, or on Pete's website at www.peteatkin.com/newsletter.htm.

I note Pizza Express Live is now reporting next week's (Thursday 29th) Pheasantry (London) gig as SOLD OUT. They do maintain a waiting list, in case of returns:

Well done, Pete and Simon! I had a marvellous time meeting with you both at Underhill Studios last October -- sorry I can't be down the old King's Road on Thursday.

Hi. I was very pleased to be at the Pheasantry last night for another great gig by Pete & Simon and thought I'd provide the set lists for the benefit of those who couldn't be there. They played several songs I hadn't heard them do before together with a fair few classics. As before, I have added (gtr) after the song titles where Pete played guitar.  He played Ballad of an Upstairs Room solo and played piano on No Dice.

Set 1.
1.Time To Burn (gtr)
2.The Closer Someone Is
3.Apparition in Las Vegas (gtr)
4.Frangipanni Was Her Flower
5.Ballad Of An Upstairs Room (gtr)
6.The Way You Are With Me (gtr)
7.The Flowers And The Wine
8.Cottonmouth
9.An Empty Table
10.Secret Drinker
11.Wristwatch For A Drummer (gtr)

Set 2
1.Where Have They All Gone ? (gtr)
2.Commercial Traveller
3.Tonight Your Love Is Over (gtr)
4.If I Had My Time Again (gtr)
5.No Dice (piano)
6.Dancing Master
7.You Can't Expect To Be Remembered (gtr)
8.Girl On The Train (gtr)
9.Together At Last (gtr)

Encore
Thirty Year Man

When I was talking with Pete after the gig and mentioned I was returning to Shabbey Road studios,Caerphilly next month to start recording my next album with Al Steele of The Korgis,Pete urged me to continue doing so,saying one should keep going with one's music as long as one could. Many thanks Pete - and may you keep going for a long time yet ! I look forward to the next gig.
