Great news -- Saturday, 20th September (this year!) just became available and was offered to Pete. Naturally, after checking with Simon, he accepted. The Pizza Express website awaits an update, so we can't book yet, but I'll let you know when we can. I'll be updating our own Gig Guide tonight, after which we'll announce the gig on Facebook. More details to follow.

Great news - thankyou Steve - and I shall be sorry to be away then - but at least with a hope for more in the future !

I was very pleased to be at The Pheasantry last Saturday night for another great gig by Pete & Simon and set out below the set list,as copied down by me at the time. Pete didn't play piano at all this time and I have added (gtr) after the song titles to show the songs where Pete played guitar.

Set 1
1.The Way You Are With Me (gtr)
2.Between Us There Is Nothing
3.The Ice Cream Man (gtr)
4.Girl On The Train (gtr)
5.History & Geography
6.The Shadow & The Widower (gtr)
7.The Faded Mansion On The Hill
8.Beware Of The Beautiful Stranger (gtr)

Set 2
1.Screen Freak
2.Nothing Can Touch Us Now
3.The Commercial Traveller
4.The Practical Man (gtr)
5.The Road Of Silk
6.Touch Has A Memory
7.Canoe
8.The Thirty Year Man

Encore
The Original Original Honky Tonk Night Train Blues (gtr)

It was a great evening,as always, and I particularly enjoyed hearing The Practical Man again.
Incidentally,Pete mentioned that the train the Girl was on was,in fact,on the Oxford-Cambridge line which Beeching closed and which is now in the process of being revived.

Pete kindly signed my LP covers for Beware Of The Beautiful Stranger and The Road Of Silk (and lyric sheet for the latter) after the gig and I gave Pete my Return To Vindolanda CD.

Let's hope The Pheasantry management will offer Pete & Simon another date there before long.
