Title: Robert Wyatt
Post by Ian Chippett on Today at 09:42
I know there are a lot of Robert Wyatt fans out there in MVLand and they may be interested to know that he makes a couple of appearances (singing and playing percussion) on the latest John Greaves album of songs with French lyrics called "Chansons". At the same time John has rereleased on old album of songs in English called, daringly enough, "Songs" on which RW makes several appearances. Haven't heard the former but the latter is a must.

The Chansons CD was launched at a concert in Paris this week without RW but with a sensational band consisting of a trumpeter, cellist and accordionist, all virtuosos with a disturbingly beautiful French singer called Elise Caron. Slight PA connection: John Greaves was also at Cambridge albeit after Pete and he sang a setting of a poem by the obsolete M. Verlaine ("La lune blanche"). Not as obsolete as all that, it seems.
