Only a few short months have passed since I noted that the lynchpin of the the radio and TV quiz show My Music, Steve Race, had passed away. I now note that in  today's papers the passing another cherishable contributor to the programme, the bass-baritone Ian Wallace,  passed away on Monday.

A full page in today's edition of The Guardian is probably less than his many accomplishments deserve.

Ian Wallace, left, with the My Music panel. Steve Race, seated, Wallace,
Denis Norden, Frank Muir and John Amis. BBC

Many thanks for posting, Kevin. That's sad news. What a lovely and talented chap Ian Wallace was. Good to see the tribute from John Amis as well as the obituary itself.

Totally off-topic as usual but doesn't John Amis look like his cousin Kingsley? Well, Clive's a big fan of Kingers if you really want a connection. Plus he (KA) wrote a poem called "A Dream Of Fair Women.
