Some while back, to my lasting embarrassment, I posted here a YouTube video of June Tabor with an enthusisastic endorsement, only to discover minutes after posting that it was widely considered to be the worst performance she'd ever given. My only excuse is that I believe I may have been alcoholically challenged at the time.
It's time to put the record straight.
Try this. It's still not the best singing I've ever heard from her, but I happen to love the song. The combination of her voice, Martin Simpson's guitar, and Richard Thompson's song is something to be savoured.
