Sorry Gerry -- I didn't realise yesterday you suspected it was an MV Forum issue rather than a Firefox/YouTube issue. I didn't think I needed to be bothered about their problem.
I'm pretty sure it is their problem: all the forum does with a url link is to open a new browser window (or tab) with the address as given. I'd guess it's the way the YouTube pages are composed, with all those javascript onLoad functions in the page head, which is confusing Firefox when it starts a new tab with it. MV is passing the url without corruption.
Checked it on Carole's laptop, which has an older version of Firefox installed, and the link works OK, but with a new browser window. I think with the later versions you have more control over where a new link is opened. It might be worth checking out the YouTube and Firefox forums for any clues to the problem.
