Title: An unexpected reference

If there was a board for "silliness" this would be on it....

I was looking at Jacqui McShee's website and found this chuckle-worthy item.  Go here:

http://www.jacquimcshee.co.uk/new_hist.htm

Skim through the page so you've got an idea of what it's all about, then click on the link "Gerry's watch" right at the foot of the page.

I imagine a fair few visitors to Jacqui's site will be utterly baffled. We, of course, know better.

Not altogether that unexpected when you consider that the Gerry is ace drummer Gerry Conway, who on occasion been with, amongst others, Jethro Tull, Jacqui’s Pentangle, the Richard Thompson Band, Fairport Convention and the Elkie Brooks Band, and who, with Jacqui doing duties as a backing vocalist, gave some sterling to support to Wizz Jones on his 2001 album Lucky the Man album.

Could it be that sometime during the recording of that album Wizz be may have drawn  Gerry's  (and Jacqui's) attention the Atkin/James song The Wristwatch for a Drummer?

Knowing that Wizz rarely turns down the opportunity introduce Pete to as wide an audience as possible, I'd be willing to bet that if he didn't do it then he did it some time or other.

I'm not too hot at HTML but it looks as though the web pages were last modified in 1997. I could be wrong! Could still be a Wizz connection  :)
