Title: Pheasantry 29 January 2026
Post by Pete Atkin on Today at 12:16
One of the greatest treats for us one-eyed eighty-year-olds is to be able to stand up (yes, that's an achievement in itsef) in front of a jam-packed selection the classiest audience members to be found anywhere and sing 'em a bunch of songs that most of the rest of the population have never heard of.   And so it was that I was gifted with another great treat at the Pheasantry on Thursday evening.   Many and mighty thanks to everyone who came along and treated me so indulgently.  I was (of course) once again in the estimable and inestimable company of Simon Wallace on piano, and here is the list of what we did -

Time to Burn
The Closer Someone Is  (no gtr)
Apparition in Las Vegas
Frangipanni Was her Flower (no gtr)
Ballad of an Upstairs Window (no piano)
The Way You Are With Me
The Flowers and the Wine (no gtr)
Cottonmouth (no gtr)
An Empty Table (no gtr)
Secret Drinker (no gtr)
Wristwatch for a Drummer
-
Where Have They All Gone?
The Commercial Traveller (no gtr)
Tonight Your Love Is Over
If I Had My Time Again
No Dice  (Pete at piano solo)
Dancing Master (no gtr)
You Can’t Expect To Be Remembered
Girl On The Train
Together At Last
+
Thirty Year Man (no gtr)

It's looking as if they'll be offering me another date in the spring, so watch this space.
