Hebden Bridge is a small but very tourist-orientated town, so there are more places to stay than in most places of its size. However, as predicted in email MV6020, the concert coincides with two weddings, so it is likely to be necessary to look further afield. Here again are brief details from the earlier accommodation list, with additional suggestions.
The Carlton Hotel, Albert Street, Hebden Bridge - 01422 844400
£30 - £42.50 per person per night.
The White Lion Hotel, Bridge Gate, Hebden Bridge HX7 8EX - 01422 842197
Main building £25 and Coach House annexe £30 per person per night.
The venue for the MVs pub, as it's only a few minutes walk from the
cinema. Despite the name, this is really an excellent historic pub with
accommodation. When booking, ask for Lesley and say you are with
Midnight Voices, and she will endeavour to put you next to other MVs.
(2 twin, 5 double, 3 family)
Nutclough House Hotel, Keighley Road, Hebden Bridge HX7 8EZ - 01422 844361
£20 - £30 per person per night.
Another cheery pub plus accommodation. All accommodation is ensuite,
with tea/coffee making facilities and TV. The pub has a good selection of
proper beers and a very wide vegetarian menu - cracking sausage, egg and
chips too for the carnivores. It's about 5 minutes walk from the cinema, but
not recommended for the infirm as it's up a very steep hill. (Stunning view
of Hebden Bridge on the way, though) (1 twin, 3 double, 1 family)
Hebden Lodge Hotel, 6-10 New Road, Hebden Bridge HX7 8AD - 01422 844233/845272
£25 per person per night.
Under new management, so not so familiar with new set-up. Wine bar
downstairs might make it a little lively late at night - however, on the
plus side, it's virtually opposite the cinema, so not far to go after the
concert (and just across from the Marina too).
(1 single, 4 twin, 6 double, 1 family)
Angeldale Guest House, Hangingroyd Lane, Hebden Bridge HX7 7DD - 01422 847321
£20 - £30 per person per night.
Don't know this one, but their ad says the bedrooms are ensuite and have
tea/coffee facilities and TV. They also advertise specialist
writing/painting breaks, so I would expect a quiet and arty clientele.
(2 twin, 1 double, 1 family)
Some B&Bs in Hebden Bridge itself
Maureen Audsley, Myrtle Grove, Old Lees Road, Hebden Bridge HX7 8HL - 01422 846078
£20 - £25 per person per night
Dinah Handley, 8 Birchcliffe, Hebden Bridge HX7 8JA - 01422 844777
£15 per person per night
Prospect End, 8 Prospect Terrace, Savile Road, Hebden Bridge HX7 6NA - 01422 843586
£19 per person per night
Claire McNamee, 1 Primrose Terrace, Hebden Bridge HX7 6HN - 01422 844747
£14 - £15 per person per night
1 St John's Close, Hebden Bridge, HX7 8PD - [Note (2004) : no longer available for B&B]
A little way out of Hebden Bridge
Redacre Mill, Mytholmroyd, HX7 5DQ - 01422 885563/881569
£29.50 per person per night
Only a few minutes drive from Hebden Bridge. Very quiet indeed, immaculate
decor and good value. Older relatives of ours have enjoyed staying there.
(2 twin, 2 double, 1 family)
The Robin Hood Inn, Keighley Road, Pecket Well, HX7 8QR - 01422 842593
£18.50 - £27.50 per person per night
A few minutes drive out of HB in the other direction. A cheerful historic
pub with good bar meals. (1 single, 1 twin, 2 doubles, 1 family)
