Some familiar names to be heard in this BBC Radio 4 feature about session musicians, available as usual for seven days via the Radio 4 Listen Again feature.

Or, indeed here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/shows/rpms/radio4/playing_second_fiddle.ram) for the RealAudio file.  (I think we've managed to break several web accessibility requirements, using 'here' as a link so often....)

Having listened to it, I can recommend it. Thanks for the link, Pete - very interesting listening, with some of the session men from Pete's albums interviewed (Herbie Flowers in particular). But I was disappointed there was no mention of Rover 3-litres  :)

[I must admit I find "Big George's" presentational style a bit 'ard on the old lug'oles though. I had no idea he was on R4 these days - he used to be on the local BBC "3 Counties" Radio (Beds, Herts and Bucks), but I knew he had some involvement with music, writing TV show theme tunes, etc.]

Cheers

Paul
