Title: Hello there!
Post by JtJ on Today at 19:31
Hi there!

It's a test message from me to this new facility.
Personally, I think that ABBA are the Cat's Pyjamas.
But then....so did they!

All the best....

I agree!

The counterpoint of their lyrics with the driving rhythms....and so on!

My picture has been squashed!
and yet it didn't specify pixel width and height (or DID it?)

Oh no, hang on....it says the image may be resized.
I wonder what optimum is?

Square? I suppose....

65x65 seems to work for me.

65 x 65 is the displayed size, to which your image, if larger, will be resized.
I've added a note to the profile form -- SJB

I would say hello to all but it looks like there has only been one person replying for the majority of this thread!!  ;)

Yes!

It was a test thread opened in the early days of this facility to test various features.

Or--der!  OR--DER!
I WILL have order in this thread.

The chair recognises the honourable moderator forthwith!

[THINKS:  That's another message on MY total!)

Ooo-er....I got a message:

"The last posting from your IP was less than 300 seconds ago! Please try again later!"

Anyway....

Having realised that Steve is moderator for this thread, I humbly apologise and withdraw my last remark.

[THINKS: ....etc.]

I just got the same message, twice.

Do we really have to wait 5 minutes between each posting?

It's my bedtime and I don't want to have to stay up that late...

Cheers

Applied the restriction to prevent the board filling up with irritating little messages split over several posts, apparently in attempts to boost their authors' star ratings. I'll lift it if those individuals will desist from spamming  ::) -- Steve

[Later...] Aw, go on, I'll lift it anyway.

Never undereztimate ze power off ze Ubermoderator, mein freunden!! 'e az veyz off mekking you vait!

(reminds me of a poster in a London bus I saw in the mid 70's, apologising for the lack of service on a particular route at some time or other.  Some wag had graffitied "we have ways of making you walk"!!)

Perhaps (if it's possible?) the restriction could still be applied to prevent repeat postings to the same thread within a time period, but not to prevent a member from posting to different threads within the same period (if you follow me). As a reformed "ratings spammer" I'd be happy to accept that ;-)

or maybe we could just lose the Mcdonald's style ratings and stars which introduce the
competitive element of status
Mind you, I've heard that Novices always think like this!   :)
