I've just got back from seeing the live show of Jeff Wayne's The War of The Worlds at the Royal Albert Hall. More my wife's thing than mine, though I will say it certainly is a spectacular show.
More to the point for this forum was the presence, side by side at the front of the throng of musicians filling the stage, of those two veterans of old Atkin sessions Chris Spedding and Herbie Flowers.
Julie Covington, who sang on the original album, was not present. Her role was filled by Irish singer and songwriter Tara Blaise.
