Hi all. Does anyone have any information or insights into Clive's poem, The Outgoing Administration? The poem is available at http://www.clivejames.com/poetry/enemy/outgoing, though there's a typo in the penultimate line. I have it in collected poems and it was in the 1985 collection "Other Passports" (which i no longer have). Anyway, I can't find a date or anything about the context of writing. At one level it's straightforward and very effective but I'd be interested to know more about when/why it was written.
