And of course, whilst none of us would deny it would be money well spent, what IS it about marketplace sellers on Amazon? On more than one occasion, I've looked for books I've wanted - out of print but quite commonly available. So the list comes up - and there's the usual "sightly foxed, £5" types, and the snootier ones who obviously want the kind of profit margins that restaurants make on wine, but then a couple of sellers (usually in America) who want some utterly ridiculous sum - £175 was one figure I saw for a book widely available in any Oxfam shop for £2.99. They aren't going to sell at that price - so why bother listing?

Take yerself off to Hay-On-Wye that's what I say. Not only is it a lovely spot to visit, there are veritable book bargains to be had. Gill and I were there last weekend. A remainder shop with everything at £1 (including, would you believe, Celebrity Su-Doku!) and reference and technical books in pristine condition at around a third of retail price. I picked up an as-new book I'd had my eye on for ages ("I am a Strange Loop" by Douglas Hofstadter) for £1 less than Amazon and no delivery charge of course.

In fact, had Gill not discovered the jewellers shop it would have been a cheap visit!

Rob's right.  It's hard to believe those high-priced copies are going to shift.  But then all they need is one person to want something that badly.  And that could apply even after the new reissues are out, I suppose.   But still, I'm sure those sellers are hoping the Demon news has not filtered out too widely.   But then again, you'd think that anyone who's enough of a fan to even think of paying that kind of money would be enough of a fan at least to have visited the website.   Beats me.

Er, I guess most of you have seen my earlier post, but I've still got 2 new, sealed PA CDs (SFM) for sale. These aren't advertised anywhere else, and the price is sensible.
