I played it all the way through non-stop 3 times in 2 days! Is this a record? (No obvious jokes, please.) The musical bits are excellent: thoughtful revisits of the classics and fine versions of the new songs: not an unforgotten word.  Wink At times I thought Clive was winging it a bit but he does this better than anyone else and the funny bits are just as funny as when I first read them, apart from the stuff I didn't know before (the poems.) If you haven't bought it, do so immediately. You know it makes sense.

OK - I stand corrected - Clive isn't muffled - that's just how he talks. And I have to say (silly old man that I am) that two of the tracks reduced me to tears. Clive knows which they are.

As soon as I got the discs I stuffed them into iTunes to take them to the states on my iPod, but immediately after issue  they weren't recognised. Ah, well... Today I tried again and all the details are there, but with the first disc labelled as "Unclassifiable" and the second as "Folk". Would the Atkins deity please decide which they should be?

(Personally, I'd go for "Soundtrack" or "New Age" - but what do I know?)

If not New Age, certainly not Old Age...

I always think Randy Newman must be relieved not to be Randy Oldman.
