Title: April 26th 2018 - St Leonards
Post by Pete Atkin on Today at 16:50
With huge thanks to Simon at Kino-Teatr, St Leonards, I am mightily pleased to be able to say that they have been able to fit me in on THURSDAY 26th APRIL.

Original tickets will be valid for the new date, which is already up on the website and on ticketsource.  Alternatively, refunds or vouchers are available from the Kino-Teatr Box Office.

Fingers crossed!

The postponed Kino-Teatr appearance is almost upon us. This Thursday, April 26th from 19:30, Pete will play a couple of sets at this Cinema/Theatre/Gallery/Restaurant venue in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex.

Tickets are still available for £12.00 (plus booking fee) from Ticketsource (https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/date/446795), and if you have tickets purchased for the original date in February, these will still be honoured.

Don't be alarmed if you see the gig listed for Wednesday 25th -- the front page (https://www.kino-teatr.co.uk/) of Kino-Teatr's website lists the correct date (26th), as do the tickets, but if you follow the 'More Info' link to reach their 'Music and Live Events' page (the one with the saxes and the bass guitar in the header photo), you'll see Pete listed for the 25th. In fact this one-day error currently affects all the 20 or so events they list on that page, and has done since at least January (http://www.peteatkin.com/cgi-bin/mv/YaBB.cgi?board=App;action=display;num=1514999795;start=0#0). Might be a bug in their server-side scripting -- below the surface it is a very fancy website -- lots of code. I'm sure they'll have entered the data correctly.

At this distance it promises to be cool and breezy on Thursday, but the south-east might escape the showers. Why not pop along to St Leonards and enjoy a mezze at the venue's Lebanese-themed restaurant before catching up with Pete.

Hi Gang

Seems none of our regulars attended this one, yet Pete's gig attracted a quite respectable crowd, about 60 people, and not all from the Hastings/St Leonards area: one, at least, came from as far away as Dublin. If any MV members were there, we'd love to know. What did you think of Kino-Teatr, the performance, the selection of songs? Pete was quite impressed by the venue, including the people, the café, the atmosphere and the sound.

Tenderfoot, a rarity in performance, was requested in advance as a surprise for a birthday, and there were a few half-time requests which Pete incorporated into his second set:

Ice Cream Man (guitar)
Thief in the Night (g, a different rhythmic groove)
Screen-Freak (keyboard)
Dancing Master (k)
Have You Got A Biro I Can Borrow? (g)
Colours of the Night (g)
Sessionman's Blues (k)
Tenderfoot (k)
You Can't Expect To Be Remembered (k; previously almost always on guitar)
I See The Joker (k)
-----------
Time to Burn (k)
Touch Has A Memory (k)
Beware of the Beautiful Stranger (g)
The Way You Are With Me (g)
Canoe (k)
Perfect Moments (k)
Girl on the Train (g)
Tonight Your Love Is Over (g; an early favourite but not played for a while)
Thirty Year Man (k)

Next gig on the calendar isn't till August, with a return to The Pheasantry, but there's still space in Pete's schedule for other bookings before then.

Steve
