Title: Re: Hove Folk Club - June 6th 2014 Post by Pete Atkin on 08.06.14 at 08:23 There were a few Voices, I think, at the Poet's Corner on Friday, but I didn't spot anyone writing anything down, so here' style set list, if anyone' ss till interested in these things... Ice cream man (guitar) Sunlight Gate (g) - it seemed appropriate for D-Day The Closer Someone Is (keyboard) Screen-Freak (k) Driving through mythical America (g) Senior citizens (g) The Road of Silk (k) I see the Joker (k) Errant Knight (g) The Way you are with me (g) Be careful when they offer you the moon (g) A Hill of little shoes (k) Time to burn (k) Wristwatch for a drummer (g) An Empty table (k) Canoe (k) Have you got a Biro I can borrow? (g) + Girl on the train (g) (The precise order of the second set may be a bit astray. I changed things on the hoof, what with requests and such.) Big thanks to everyone for coming and for being such a good crowd, to Roger Stevens for good entertainment, and major thanks to Robb Johnson on at least four fronts (the gig, the accommodation, the support, the good company). |

Title: Re: Hove Folk Club - June 6th 2014 Post by Pete Atkin on 08.06.14 at 08:26 D'oh! Apologies for the Apple-induced typo in the previous post. What kind of a weird person would possibly not mean "here' style" when what they had typed was "here's the"? |

Title: Re: Hove Folk Club - June 6th 2014 Post by Jan on 08.06.14 at 12:53 Oh yes. Definitely still interested. Only sorry I couldn't make it to Hove (and the weather looked nice on TV too!) |

Title: Re: Hove Folk Club - June 6th 2014 Post by Keith M on 09.06.14 at 22:40 Thanks to Pete for an excellent evening - and for providing the set list. And thanks for introducing me to the Hove Folk Club. I saw Robb Johnson some years ago with Leon Rosselson but I was not aware of his Hove base. And the Poet's Corner serves a good selection of Harvey's beers. I'll be back. |
