Blimey - I see Pete's High Wycombe gig is promoting him as "the Nick Drake that lived". It's in their publicity and eg on the Wegottickets listing for the gig. I trust your neck is feeling strong Pete -that is quite a tag to hang round it - a bit bizarre in my view.

Well, what I actually said to the chap at work who does our ads, over the phone, was "like Nick Drake would have sounded were he still alive today and had he not been such a miserable so and so" Not exactly the best description, but bear in mind I was dealing with someone who's hardly ever heard any music, so I tried to keep it simple. Trust them to make it even simpler by putting in the 'abbreviated' version, which of course has completely different implications...
