Clive at Ways with Words literary festival,
« : 06.07.07 at 21:56 »

I mentioned elsewhere that Clive was talking about Cultural Amnesia at the Ways with Words literary festival, Dartington Hall, Devon, on Thursday the 12th of July.

Later in the same day he is participating in the Grand Literary Balloon Debate, chaired by Andrew Marr.

Extract from programme.
Quote:

Thursday 12 July Great Hall

Great Hall
7.30pm
Grand Literary Balloon Debate with Andrew Marr and 4 other guests

Join our chairman, Andrew Marr, as he pilots his imaginary balloon towards the brightest heaven of invention.

Each of our four panellists will fight it out on behalf of a favourite author to decide who will ascend to the empyrean... and who’s ballast. Last one in the basket is the winner
.

Marr's four guests are Clive, the novelist, playwright and critic  Louise Doughty, the novelist and screenwriter Deborah Moggach and the journalist, biographer and novelist  Nicholas Shakespeare.
